How to Get Your Card

As part of our mission to provide efficient and effective services, the Card Services Department offers a number of options for persons wishing an Official Algonquin College identification card.

In Person

All students must provide proper identification and required documentation prior to being issued a card. The College will not issue photo identification to any person who can not meet the requirements that establish the identity of that person.

Requirements

  1. Official Timetable from the Registrar’s Office
  2. Two (2) government issued pieces of photo-identification

Acceptable Pieces of Photo-Identification:

  • Passport
  • Driver’s License
  • Health Card
  • Citizenship Card
  • Credit Card (with photo)
  • Armed Forces ID
  • Certificate of Indian Status Card

Algonquin College student photo-id cards are produced year round at the Card Systems Office (C044A).

During both the Fall and Winter Registration periods, cards are produced at mobile photo-id stations set up in coordination with Campus Preview.

In hopes of helping students avoid the long lines associated with the first weeks of classes we are now pleased to offer students an additional option for obtaining a student card.  You can now e-mail your digital photographs and information into the office and pick up your card with proper identification at your convenience.

Digital Photograph Requirements:

  • Background must be uniformly white or light in colour
  • Face must be clearly visible and applicant facing the camera
  • Photograph must be in colour
  • Applicant must be the only person in the picture
  • Must be in .jpeg format
  • Nothing can impede the view of the face (hats, sunglasses, gestures)
